France is happening this week, but before I go my brother treated my sister-in-law-to-be and me to pizza. This restaurant is the bees knees and uses local farm ingredients! The salad greens came from the farm that the goats used to stay at before they came over to our yard! There's an open kitchen so you can watch the people tossing pizzas and tending to the open flame brick pizza oven. We ordered off the hand drawn menus and shared a carne special that had an apple cider sauce, prosciutto, cheese, and onions. Also, they have the best lemonade ever. They sweeten it with real maple syrup. I have to use my greatest patience and discipline not to finish it within seconds of it being put in front of me.
In France I'll be eating at a dining hall everyday. I'll miss the luxury of cooking and eating out at my favorite spots, but I'm interested to see what I will eat over there.
Okay, I have to be honest... My first thought was that this post was about how you were drawing menus for someone, and in my head I said something like, "What?! She DREW those??!" But then I scrolled down enough to read what you wrote and it wasn't the case. :p
ReplyDeleteI would kill for some lemonade. It sounds that good right now.
Ha! I wish. Although, one of my favorite parts about this restaurant is that they let you make the menu covers! They'll give paper and crayons to anyone that asks and you can slide in your menu cover when you're done. You never know which menu you'll get. I once had an excellent drawing of a dinosaur eating the pepperoni topped earth.
DeleteI noticed the Healing Lyme book on the table. It's on my summer reading list! Also, that restaurant sounds amazing. Yum.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of the book yet, but I hear it's great. That copy belongs to my brother who has already had a few too many tick interactions. Plus we come from the town which is the namesake for the disease. I'd like to read it as well!
