Weekend Waygone 5
Saturday brought us Bastille Day here in France. We kicked things off with a sidewalk arts festival for the community and tourists alike and had an all day outdoor party. I volunteered to shoot off the confetti cannons at the award ceremony which was a delight. Before we got to the announcement of the victors there was a sword fight demonstration from a few of the performing art students and their professor, and I convinced a classmate of mine to do a chalk Louis Jou portrait of Beethoven. He did a phenomenal job of translating the portrait onto the sidewalk with the crazy color chalks. Well done all around. We ended the night at the local cafe who had brought in a dj for the occasion and we danced and shared a few glasses of wine. A successful French holiday if you ask me!
